TOP NEWS  :: Truck Grand Prix. Two wins and Stuart leads British Championship ::  The Truck Grand Prix 2007 at the world famous Nürburgring circuit in Germany and over 180,000 race fans proved again to be the highlight of the European racing calendar. British Truck Racing Association teams competed in the ADAC Mittelrhein Cup races which included German, French and Dutch teams and the results counted towards the 2007 Delphi BTRA British Truck Racing Championship. In the first of the two races Stuart Oliver held his pole position start from a determined challenge from his British rival Chris Levett to take victory. The two MAN drivers were locked together nose-to-tail (and sometimes wheel-to-wheel) throughout the 13 lap event – and were only separated by 0.267s. at the chequered flag. Andrew Levett (Chris' Father) brought the second of the Birds/Atkins Racing MANS home in a safe third place – having held off a mid-race challenge from Mat Summerfield. Although the field was packed with British drivers much of the crowd had their attention focussed on the epic battle for fourth – featuring the Iveco of local hero Heinz-Werner Lenz and the MAN of Prinz Leopold von Bayern. To the delight oh his "Orange Army" of fans Lenz finally secured the position – crossing the line just 0.378s. ahead of his rival. Stuart Oliver's victory (and fastest lap) gave him 11 points reducing Chris Levett’s Championship dominance, thanks to his five previous wins in the series. Sunday afternoons final saw Stuart again on pole position but he was swiftly overtaken by Chris Levett to take the lead only to suffer gearbox failure in the second lap, forcing an immediate retirement – handing the lead and victory to Stuart and giving him Championship points lead. Stuart now has a seven point advantage at the top of the Delphi BTRA British Truck Racing Championship.
